  Arthritis  
  Definition:  
  Arthritis is one of the most common chronic diseases in world  
 

Types of Arthritis:

 
  Osteoarthritis, a degenerative joint disease in which the cartilage that covers the ends  
  of bones in the joint deteriorates, causing pain and loss of movement as bone begins to  
  rub against bone. It is the most widespread form of arthritis  
  Rheumatoid arthritis, is a chronic disease characterized by inflamed joints leading to  
  swelling, pain, stiffness,  and the possible loss of function. It occurs when the body's  
  immune system attacks tissues  that makeup joints. This destroys the joint's protective  
  cartilage The cartilage in those with rheumatoid arthritis breaks down and wears away.  
  As a result, the bones rub together, causing the pain, swelling, and stiffness associated  
  with this condition.  
  Gout,  is usually the result of a defect in body chemistry .which affects mostly men.  
  It This painful condition most often attacks small joints, especially the big toe.  
  Ankylosing spondylitis, a type of arthritis that affects the spine. As a result of  
  inflammation, the bones of the spine grow together.  
 
  Juvenile arthritis, a general term for all types of arthritis that occur in children.  
 
     
   Symptoms:  
  Fever, Stress  
  Severe pain and stiffness in affected muscle in case of rheumatism  
  Pain or tenderness in a joint which is aggravated by any movement or activity such as  
  walking, getting up from a chair, writing, typing, holding an object, throwing a ball,  
   turning a key.  
  Excruciating pain and stiffness in the joints in case of chronic articular rheumatism.  
     
Diagnosis:
  Diagnosis is done by clinical history ,general examination ,x-ray and some blood tests .  
     
  Management:  
  Exercises such as walking ,cycling and yoga  can help to maintain normal joint moment  
  and relieve pain and stiffness.  
  Weight control can be important to people who have arthritis because extra weight puts  
  extra pressure on many joints  
     
  Homoeopathic  treatment:  
  Arnica: Useful for chronic arthritis with a feeling of bruising and soreness Pain worse by  
  moment or being touched.  
     
  Bryonia: Helpful for stiffness and inflammation with tearing or throbbing pain, made  
  worse by  motion The condition may  developed gradually, and is worse in cold dry  
  weather aggravates by touch or movement relives by pressure and from rest.  
     
  Calcarea carb: Helpful for deeply aching arthritis involving node formation around the  
    joints. Inflammation and soreness worse from cold or damp weather affect hand and  
  knees. Common symptoms are weakness, fatigue from exertion feeling of chilliness.  
     
   Rhus tox: Useful for rheumatoid arthritis, with pain and stiffness that is worse in the  
   morning application  and on first motion but better from continued movement Hot bath  
  and warm relives pain The person may be extremely restless unable to find better  
 position and want to move constantly.
   Pulsatilla: Applicable when rheumatoid arthritis pain is changeable in quality feels worse  
   from warm and better from cold application. Person having very changeable mood  
     
    Ruta graveolens: Arthritis with a feeling of great stiffness and lameness, worse from  
   cold and  damp weather. Tendons or join can be much affected.
