  TUBERCULOSIS  
 

Tuberculosis Causes:

 
  Tuberculosis is caused by mycobacteria. Children and people who have weaker immunity system are  
  more prone to tuberculosis infection.  
  Tuberculosis spreads from person to person by droplet infection.  
  When someone with tuberculosis infection coughs, sneezes, or talks, tiny droplets of saliva or mucus  
  are expelled into the air, which could be inhaled by another person.  
  The bacteria get settle in lung and start to grow in lung.  
  Then the bacteria are transmitted to lymph system and bloodstream and spread to other organs.  
  The bacteria further multiply in organs that have high oxygen pressures, such as the upper lobes of lungs,  
  kidneys, bone marrow, and meninges and spinal cord  
  Risk factors for TB are following:  
  Diseases that weaken the immune system  
  HIV infection  
  Low socioeconomic status  
  Alcoholism  
  Health care worker  
  Crowded living conditions  
     
  Tuberculosis Symptoms:  
  Generally no symptoms of illness until the disease are quite advanced.  
  Symptoms of tuberculosis depend upon which organ is involved by it.  
  Fever ,weakness, loss of appetite, and weight loss are common symptoms  
  Tuberculosis in lung have symptoms of  
  Severe cough lasting more than 2 weeks.  
  Haemoptysis.  
  Sometime people who are infected but may not have symptoms.  
  Tuberculosis may involve other organs  The most common sites are:  
  Lymph nodes  
  Genitourinary tract  
  Bone and joint sites  
  Meninges  
  The lining covering the outside of the gastrointestinal tract.  
     
  Diagnosis of Tuberculosis  
  Following tests to be performed to diagnose tuberculosis  
  Chest x-ray: The most common diagnostic test that leads to the suspicion of infection is a chest x-ray  
  Mantoux skin test  
  Sputum testing: Sputum testing for acid-fast bacilli is the only test that confirms a TB diagnosis.  
     
  Homoeopathic Treatment:  
  ARS IOD: In the early stages of tuberculosis, profound prostration, rapid, irritable pulse, recurring fever  
  and sweats, emaciation; tendency to diarrhea.  
     
  DROSERA: laryngeal phthisis can benefit by it. Vomiting of food from coughing with gastric irritation and  
  profuse expectoration. Tubercular glands.  
     
  SANGUINAREA: Severe dyspnœa and constriction of chest. Burning sensation in chest, rusty colored  
  offensive sputum.  
     
  TUBERCULINUM: Shortness of breath. Sensation of suffocation, even with plenty of fresh air, rapid  
  loss of weight, very sensitive physically & mentally.
